Like many agate geodes, this crystal has a lovely mix of blues and greys with some subtle purple hues as well. But the remarkable part is a colorful outer layer of creamy butter yellow. This unique coloration reminded Steven Z of the fire trail an aerolite creates as it burns through the Earth’s atmosphere. Aerolites are meteorites that are mainly composed of silicate minerals. And so, with shooting stars burning their trails of creative fire through his mind as he worked, Steven Z made a Wish. A fiery skull descending across the sky, watching as it passes by.

Ethereal colors smooth from one to the next over this outstanding sculpture, creating a striking divergence between the bold outer layer of fire and the sparkling crystal druse lining the interior of the geode. Somehow this carving holds the attention, like there is a personality in there, looking back at the observer. Causing one to remember the old adage, “be careful what you wish for.”
