Undying Flame —— The Fire That Never Goes Out

Fire has three endings: it burns out, it spreads—or it becomes stone.

Ruby is fire turned to stone. Deep within the Earth, heat and pressure compressed aluminum oxide into corundum. A trace of chromium bled into its crystal lattice and stained it red. This is not color. This is a flame that has been burning for millions of years—and will never stop.

This skull is called Undying Flame.

It is not fire that burns. It is fire that endures. When light passes over its surface, the crimson inside flickers like dying embers catching oxygen again. Like a heartbeat restarting. Like something you thought was gone—still there. Just waiting.

Warriors embedded rubies into their flesh, believing it made them invincible. Kings set them into crowns, believing it made their power eternal.
