This variety of zebra agate is less commonly known as suleiman, which can be quite rare. It contains traces of blue and an earthy reddish brown coloration along with the black, while the white is more crystalline, being translucent and transparent, than the white of the more common zebra agate. This variety of cryptocrystalline quartz is closely related to the Shiva Lingam stones. In ancient Persia and Tibet it was one of the most valued and desired stones. Lore claims that misuse of the stone caused it to withdraw and hide from the collective consciousness. It is said that there is mention of this stone in old Tibetan, Farsi, and Sanskrit writings.
