Gold Rider is a brilliant sculpture featuring an intricately detailed pyrite skull with a metallic gold, mirrored polish carved from a single piece cluster of pyrite crystals from Peru. The natural, lustrous, and sharply formed pyrite crystals display striated surfaces on a combined cubic and octahedral crystal growth pattern, giving sharp contrast to the gleaming face of the Gold Rider skull. An epic character and personality are gained with the addition of a custom designed black obsidian bust with a high, turned up collar framing the skull. The pyrite crystal skull fits perfectly into this base which is fashioned from a black obsidian specimen from the United States.
