You are looking at a blue aragonite skull. The skull is 5.8 inches long from top to bottom.

It's natural for us to see the crystal skulls waiting within the rough specimens of the many beautiful gems and crystals we work with. While carving, it can be quite an experience to see how they work with their natural formations too, incorporating colors, patterns, and various features into the final sculpture. But even with a vast and diverse history of sculptures behind us, finding a naturally horned crystal skull is still a very rare event. Very rare, but also very obvious!

With a soft blue hue, this specimen of aragonite from Sichuan, China sports a twinned horn formation so close to perfect it's hard to believe! Two long protrusions curve up and back from the crystal skull countenance carved in the Super Realistic design style from Skullis. The contrasting color of the natural weathered aragonite still covering these beautiful horns gives added realism to this spectacular sculpture. Features like these also allow us appreciate the subtle beauty of a crystal's exterior appearance, created by ages of exposure.
